Color & Light

 

The color depends only on the leaves used and it will not be possible to determine precisely how the light will shine through structures, since the distribution of the leaves is difficult to control.

Type of leaves

 

It is possible to choose the type of leaf or a certain color (limited to availability when ordering). It is also possible to send the desired leaves to MIYUCA.

 

Sustainability

 

Miyuca keeps a strong focus on sustainability throughout the entire product process:

 

• Leaves are the main material and make up the majority of the final product.

• Slow design: Miyuca respects the cycle of nature by waiting all year for the trees to release their precious material. No tree is harmed and only as many leaves are collected as necessary for production. 

• Each product is entirely handmade.

• The bio resin used has a significantly lower carbon footprint than others. Through green chemistry, sustainable raw materials, and efficient manufacturing energy is conserved, harmful byproducts minimized and greenhouse gas emissions reduced. 

• In order to reduce the use of plastic even more, especially for the lamps,many parts are made especially of metal instead of plastic

• Only cardboard and paper are used for packaging, no plastic is used at all

 

Certification

 

The lamps have been sufficiently tested and have a CE certificate.

Durability

 

Natural materials are used in production. Therefor a slight change of color in the course of time cannot be ruled out, especially under strong UV radiation. It is also advised not to hang the lamps outside or near high heat sources.
